The Progression of Power

The Bridge ~ Reminder #95
The Progression of Power

The reality that you create is up to you

Anyone who desires to become more proficient at using The Intention Process must pass through six stages or steps before becoming an adept. I was fortunate to learn these steps from a tall, highly intelligent man who mysteriously showed up at my doorstep one summer day when I was living in Corrales, NM. He said his name was Ralph, and that he was an author of a different sort than me. Whereas I'd always been interested in the intuitive side of life, Ralph's talent, as I soon realized, was that he was scientifically oriented. He liked to analyze things and put them in order.

After a few minutes of customary introductions and niceties, we got to talking about the laws of manifestation, and Ralph said that, lately, he'd been writing about something he'd discovered in his research. It had to do with a particular progression that most people go through in order to become more skilled at manifesting.

The initial step in this progression, he said, was testing. If we're going to create anything consciously, we must first run a test by making an intention and establishing for ourselves that the process works. Once we realize that our intention has, in fact, manifested in our physical experience, we'll be more apt to test it again by making several more intentions and watching closely for them to manifest as well. In this way, he said, we gain a modicum of proficiency and work our way toward the second step in the progression: we begin to trust.

Ralph explained that the more we see our intentions come into manifestation, the more our level of trust grows. We start to get comfortable with the process and, usually not long after that, we reach the third step, which he called confidence. Confidence, according to Ralph, comes to us when we understand that we're really on to something. At this point, we typically begin using The Intention Process more often. We use it to bring anything that we need into our lives, and we use it confidently. After noticing that our intentions are coming to life on a steady basis, our confidence then turns into a knowing.

This is the fourth step, and Ralph said that this is where our manifesting skills take a gigantic leap. He said that in preparation for the book he was currently working on, he had interviewed hundreds of people and found that those who had a knowing about their ability to create consciously lived an altogether different kind of life than those who hadn't reached this stage yet. They had a charisma about them; they'd come in touch with their innate power, and, from this point on, there was no turning back.

He said it was as if they'd awakened from a dream and had no desire to go back to sleep. Life had regained its excitement and adventure, now that they had accessed their true power. The only thing left for them to do after that was to act courageously. And that is the fifth step: courage. When we reach the stage of courage in our evolution, we are no longer hampered by what others think or say about us. Fear and intimidation don't play the same roles in our lives as they used to. We call forth the highest good and make our intentions courageously, knowing that whatever we're intending is going to manifest for us.

Our base of power grows stronger and stronger, and soon, after acting with courage for awhile, we reach the sixth and final level on our journey: fortitude. We become like a castle or an impenetrable fortress built upon the peak of the mountain. Having made our way through the previous five steps, we stand firm, at the pinnacle of life, masters of all we survey. Nothing can touch us now. We are grand creators, freed from all worldly cares as God's most precious gifts are arrayed before us to pick and choose from as we please.

Shine Your Light

The Bridge ~ Reminder #82
The Eighth Intent
Shine Your Light

I am a magnificent being, awakening to my highest potential. I express myself with joy, smiling easily and laughing often. I shine my light.

Working directly with the light is our next step. It doesn't cost us anything to see ourselves happier, more abundant, or full of joy. No one sends us a bill when we see our body in its ideal state of health. We don't need anyone's permission, and we don't have to be in a special place. Nor do we require the use of any fancy devices or tools. In fact, we don't need anything other than our imagination and the light itself, and  it's always there, just waiting for us to do with as we please. It doesn't take long working with the light until we begin to shine brighter than ever.

I don't know how long I slept, but when I awoke, a radiantly beautiful woman stood before me. She was dressed in a white-fringed, buckskin dress, intricately beaded with ancient Native American symbols. An eagle feather was tied to her single black braid, and beside her stood a young, pure white buffalo, grazing quietly. I knew from the stories I'd read years ago that she was White Buffalo Calf Woman.

 "You're real!" I blurted out.
"I'm as real as you are," she answered, smiling at me.
"But I thought you were a myth or a fairy tale...."
She laughed outloud. "Much is not as it appears to be."
I thought about that and nodded.

She looked at me thoughtfully, her eyes showing a genuine compassion. "You are very close to stepping further into the world of Spirit," she said. "In the world of Spirit, all is known. No secrets exist, and no one can hide. Those who live in Spirit see all that goes on in the world of Matter. But those in the world of Matter do not see into the world of Spirit, unless they learn to shine their light."

"And how do I learn to shine my light?" I asked.

"By doing just what you are doing, Robert. By overcoming your fears. By taking responsibility for your own actions and stepping bravely into the unknown. By asking for guidance, like you did in your intentions this morning."

I didn't say anything. As far as I was concerned, there were still a lot of things that I was afraid of.

"I will give you an example," she said. "When you came upon this magical living stream, you didn't hesitate to drink all you wanted. You trusted in your intuition that the water was good for you, and you weren't frightened to touch it."

 "That's true."

"Many people in your world would not have done what you did. They would think the water was poisonous, and they would shy away from it. Their beliefs would have kept them from experiencing the special revitalizing qualities that this water passes on to those who drink of it." She reached down and ran her hand, ever-so-slowly, through the water. From where I sat, it looked like a thousand diamonds glistening as the water trickled through her fingers.

"It is the same with many things in your world. Your people are frightened of things that, in reality, are very beneficial for them."

"What things?" I asked.

"You labor under two great limitations, Robert. These limitations pervade your world and keep you from experiencing your birthright. The first limitation is that there are no worlds other than the one in which you are living. It amazes those in my world how this idea can continue to exist, especially in light of all of the new information which is being made available to you. Where do you think your dreams are coming from? Where do your thoughts, your feelings, or your creative inspirations come from? There is so much more that awaits your people, and yet they cannot access it as long as they believe it doesn't exist."

"Our limiting beliefs create our limited reality?" I stated, rhetorically.

"That's the way it works, Robert. If, on the other hand, your people would seek, in earnest, to step into the world of Spirit, then ancient doors would open, and old friends would bid them to enter."

Renewing

The Bridge ~ Reminder #85
Renewing

To renew yourself,
you need to take a break every so often

Anything we do repetitively for too long a time causes us to grow stale. It doesn't matter whether it's at our job, eating the same food, driving the same car, or in our relationships, if we stay at it without taking an occasional break, we are confronted by the Law of Diminishing Returns.

Simply put, the Law of Diminishing Returns says that you can eat one ice cream cone and it's good; you can eat two ice cream cones and they're still good; but if you go on to eat seven or eight ice cream cones, you'll start to get pretty uncomfortable. You'll need to take a break from ice cream for awhile and renew yourself so that you can come back and eat ice cream cones again in the near future.

As we said, this little analogy not only works for ice cream cones, but for everything we do. We become inefficient and dull if we do not work with this law consciously.

I had a very good friend in Kona who worked side by side throughout the week with his wife, and he always made a deliberate point to get away every second or third weekend to watch sports on TV with his buddies. Needless to say, his wife was not always happy about this, especially because he would just up and go whenever he felt that their relationship was becoming strained by their being so close together all the time. But, in the long run, their relationship flourished year in and year out because he had the wisdom to work in harmony with the Law of Diminishing Returns and get away so that they would both have the time to recharge and come back together, renewed.

My Intention for today is:

I Intend that I am working consciously with the Law of Diminishing Returns
and that I am taking a break when I need it.

Embracing Upliftment

The Bridge ~ Reminder #94
Embracing Upliftment

We don't have to continue to believe what we were
taught when we were young

It's all in what we embrace. Those who embrace scarcity shall be subjected to it; those who embrace sickness shall experience its ill effects; those who embrace violence shall perish by it; but those who embrace Love and a caring Spirit shall be embraced by Love in return. What we put out is what we get back. If you find that you've been attracting challenges and discomfort into your life, you can start out by making an intention to be more gentle with yourself from now on.

Whenever you're feeling weak or feeling down, you can draw on the energy and power that comes from the spark that lives deep inside of you, the spark that animates your entire being. Call it up! If you need to sing, sing loudly. If you need to pray, pray loudly. If you need to tone, tone proudly. Do whatever it takes to lift your Spirit so you can look down and see your life, playing itself out. Then you, the person in charge, can watch and decide what is best for you.

From The Intenders of the Highest Good

Remember that when you lift yourself up, even in the slightest degree, the whole of Humanity is lifted up in the same measure. You lift all of Humanity up when you reach out for your greatest happiness. Who knows, maybe one day soon you'll cast aside a last lingering belief surrounding your scarcity, sickness, or suffering and, in that joyous moment of release, it will be just enough for the whole world to breach an ancient barrier and be lifted up to its next level of experience. So Be It!

My Intention for today is:

I Intend that I am embracing that which uplifts me
and my fellow travelers.
